Blessings: We Fail to See ... ..20080916

blessings even in a clean and well protected place like Singapore where the infrastructure is well engineered and the economy is healthy and able to weather the financial crisis that is troubling America and the rest of the world today. Even in the dire situation we are in now we can still search for the blessings that are hidden somewhere in the package.

Oftentimes we are distracted by trivials like some Singaporeans who are ashamed of the Singlish we speak. So what? The fact that my parents were not native English it is a blessing that I can speak Singlish. Here in Canada I continue to speak my own brand of English. The blessing is that it is genuine honest and candid and it is me. I am not ashamed. Once in a while I ask my Canadian friends if they understood what I said and they have no problem. So there is no problem !

Pearls are produced by oysters that have sand lodged into them. The discomfort and the tears of the oysters produce pearls.

Likewise we should not focus our eyes and mind on the difficulties , the disadvantages and the unfairness that we are now in. Rather we should search for the blessings that is hidden in the package.

I am writing this not from a place of luxury and ecstacy but from a place where I can list out a thousand complaints, unhappiness and unfairness. Nevertheless I chose to keep my mind and eyes on the blessings. I hope you do too.

Thanks Dear for your encouraging words.Of course you are Sunlight. I hope to write pages like this and put them in a book. This would give me immense pleasure before I leave.
