The Baby

Today in the mail I got a letter from an insurance saleswoman wanting to celebrate with me, or something like that, when the new member of my family arrived. And she reminded me that this meant I'd need to revisit my insurance coverage.

Hmm. I am over 50 and have no children.

Three days ago, however, I searched Amazon for baby strollers and pillows for nursing mothers, since a longtime friend of mine is expecting and I'd like to get her something major. I didn't search any other sites, and I haven't gone to any baby stores yet either.

Amazon was pretty fast and sneaky at selling this information. I guess a mailing list of new parents would be a valuable one, so they go the extra mile to get those addresses out to buyers of lists. Simply amazing, since I didn't even make a purchase, only put a few things in the cart then took them out.

I think I'm going to experiment with some other types of items, and see what happens.
