Robotic Appliances

I only have one, an I Robot vac and I love it. I have figured out a way to lock it into one room at a time and it is such a time and work saver. I can be completing another task while it cleans. It goes underneath furniture and does a better job than I am inclined to do.

I read an article about a woman who decided that instead of having a cleaning woman she would go all out and buy all the robotic appliances available. She was very satisfied with the outcome. They talk to you...my vac used to say "Help:I am stuck" until I blocked off all the places it was supposed to stay out of. Now, it pretty much keeps it's
mouth shut.

The only practical thing Alexa can do is order a pizza or
tell you what channel your favorite programs are on, so I
am not that fond of her. I will probably be long gone but I envision the day when one robotic assistant can do all
the housework.

Robotic vacs used to get poor reviews, mainly because the can't do corners. A robotic vac couldn't do the area around my wood stove insert, but aside from that, it would be good to have. Long story, but it involves the remnants of OCD.
I've had Alexa for almost a year. I use her most for setting timers hands-free while I'm cooking and playing WSKG, my "local" NPR station that I can't get on the radio. I was expecting her to have to have access to Internet pages of all kinds, "Alexa, what it the price of home heating oil at xxx company". Turns out that the oil company doesn't publish the price of oil so ohwell, The Creatorws do add new skills every week.

I hate to vac, I have a heavy Kirby but the IRobot suits me much better and I only get the Kirby out for emergencies. Jose doesn't have that doggy smell and doesn't shed which is a big plus. We can wear black now that Rex has departed, although he was well worth all the mess. I hate to say this but Jose is probably the smartest dog that I have ever had. He has the receptive language of a l0 month old child.

I’m not fussy. Maid or robotics is fine with me. Just so long as I don’t have to do it.

I had a cleaning woman with sticky fingers so I think I prefer the robots.

Does Jose chase it or ride on it?

No, Jose is too fat and lazy to chase anything but if my cat, China was still with us, she would ride on it. She loved to be pulled around the house on a rug.
