Life & Events > Trapped

I really hate to tell this on myself but in retrospect, it
is funny. Ted laughed his head off.

I went for a hearing evaluation today and because the doctor has such a nice clean rest room, I decided to make
a stop before driving home.

All went well until I discovered that the lock on the stall
door had jammed and refused to open. No matter how I jiggled it, I couldn't get it to unlock. There seemed no
way to get out of there except to get down and slither out
on my stomach underneath the stall door. So folks, that
is what I did, thanking providence that the floor was squeaky clean and no one came in and witnessed my sorry

An 88 year old woman should not have to put up with
such undignified exits.

i was once so annoyed that the stalls were coin operated that i climbed over the top, but then had to slither under to get out. incidentally, it is now mandatory that free toilet stalls should be part of what is offered. As for the floors, looking clean or not, i'd be tempted to shower once i got home. so here's to you, sweet thing. good going.

I am glad to know that someone else shared my experience...undignified
though it was. I am glad that pay toilets are a thing of the past in our
country at least.

I'd hate to have been the next geezer with IBS to come along in a hurry.

Didn't see that one coming.

It was even funny to me. I wonder how the janitor solved the mystery of
the locked room.

I keep picturing this, and don't know how you managed it. Especially with how tiny and cramped they build them these days. Now I'm thinking all women should be flexible enough and strong enough to be able to escape a bathroom this way.. it is now my new fitness goal.

It was kind of a tight place to escape from. There was no way out except
to slither out on the tummy.

I am impressed at your agility! And you've reminded me of a long-ago Sunday I spent with my mother -- we'd decided to get dressed up and go to brunch at a downtown hotel. There was an attractive young woman in a gown who played the harp in the hotel dining room. A little later I ran into her downstairs in the ladies' room. For some stupid reason the stalls had coin things on them -- you had to pay a dime to get in. The harpist walked in, no purse with her. Before I could offer her a dime, she smiled at me, dropped to the floor and slithered under the stall door.

I always think of a harpist as being ultra refined so I can hardly imagine this scenario. I hope the floor was really clean...that would
make all the difference.
