This is it ... .Hell Has Frozen Over

GGGoood HHHumppp DDDay, BBlogg PPPals:

It is, according to the calandar, May 12th. But as I sit here, a snow storm is swirling out my window here atop the Shady Pines Senior Living Complex. The weather prognosticators are calling from 4 inches to a foot, depending on which tv chanel you listen to.  Aye yi yi, I have never seen such a screwed up climate, although the Flower City by the Lake came close.  The annual Lilac Festival in that vaunted city, which should be commencing any day, was often snowed out. So I guess I should be used to this. Somehow, though, I always pictured the wild and wooly west as hotter.  Ah, well.

As you can tell, I am awake and blogging at an ungodly hour(1:30 am MDT. 3:30 am EDT). The stupid neighbors were at it again. As if the old bat across the hall with her Bible thumping music and preaching, the people next door chimed in. All is quiet on the western front for the moment but one never knows. I am so sick of this, but there's not a whole lot I can do. I have complained but nothing seems to have any effect.  I suppose I'm lucky that its not every night so I guess I must suck up and deal...just like everything else in my life.

Thursday we are having a small celebration for niece Lulubell's youngest child Wednesday's birthday. She's gonna be 6 and is all into Barbies and Disney princesses and so forth. I found a bright pink Barbie car for her. It's a convertable VW bug type car that she can place her Barbie dolls in and push them around.  She wanted one that was radio controlled but I coudn't locate one.  Kid's toys are so expensive as is kid's clothing.  Sheesh. I unnerstand Buster's(Lulubell's hubby) mother will be in attendence. She seems nice enough but she and her son have issues, I think. Buster often comments that she only shows up to see the children.  Never have gotten the straight of what happened to Buster's daddy.

Well, all is the same here in Cow Snot.  The annual Rodeo Days festival is slated for July and we have some top name entertainers lined up to perform. Brooks and Dunn(on their farewell tour I unnerstand) Alan Jackson, and Kiss.  The ticket prices are outlandish and there is no way you will catch yers truely at these events.  Too many out of town ijits in addition to the home grown variety. And many of them remain after the festival making damn nuisenses out of themselves.  But I guess they drop a lot of money into the local economy so it does have it's positive side.

So, hopefully, yer weather is more springlike and the rest of the week is good for you. Take care, everyone.

I have absolutely no problem picking up the phone to dial the non-emergency number for the local police to ask if they can help quiet things down. My neighbors have learned to settle their battles before 11 P.M. because at three minutes after 11 P.M. I call the police. Every time I get a new neighbor, it takes exactly one call.
comment by thestephymore on May 18, 2010 10:51 PM ()
true...but I find sometimes the cops don't show up until after the neighbors have worn themselves out.

Try giving those people a dose of there own medicine. Ask your Dr. for something to make you sleep like Ambien or Lunesta also.

I am tempted to crank my music up but then my other neighbors would complain about me. I keep hoping they'll just shut up. the whole thing is they don't do this all the time, but I never know when its coming. It's like being in a war.

Your snow has brought we poor souls in the plains tornadoes as that cold air collided with our warm spring air. Thank goodness a cold front finally moved in from the north today to put an end to the stormy weather.

spring is indeed a volatile time of year. I just hope it doesn't snow on my birthday in June.

It's hard to imagine Gene Simmons in Cheyenne, but he'll do anything for a buck. This storm is really something. You and I are at the same altitude, so we're at the same snow level. It's dry down in the flat lands, or merely raining.

yeah. its kinda hard to imagine Kiss in cowboy country but I've talked to many who are looking forward to their perfomance. I saw them in concert once when they were in their prime. verah cool.

Has the US taken melatonin off it's illegal drugs list yet? It's the only thing that keeps me sleeping through the 5am canine choir next door.
comment by nittineedles on May 12, 2010 10:19 AM ()
I tried melatonin once when I was working. It was effective but after so long it lost its power. like ginko. what's keeping me awake is more psychological. I think I need to go to counceling....again.

it's springlike here, the temps go up and down at random. I hope you got some rest buggs! did you say Kiss is going to be that festival? have they gone country now?
comment by elkhound on May 12, 2010 9:25 AM ()
don't think they've gone country....think its just the festival's way of providing equal time for other music genres. its 'asposed to be warmer here for the next week or so....thank goodness

Wow! Snow this time of year. That is crazy!
Does your complex have rules about noise after a certain hour? I know the one we play cards with is good about enforcing them.

yes they do have rules but they are laxly enforced....as are most of their regulations. they want bodies in these apartments and they don't care if everyone else is discomforted. morons.
