January in the Rockies

Well, its football playoff time, blog pals.  I don't have a dog in the hunt, (i.e. the 'Skins or the Saints).  I just want it to be over and for baseball season to start anew.

Meanwhile, back East, according to several I know, they are having "Snowmageddon" or "Snowzilla".  It is beginning to snow here in Cow Snot as I sit in the Gardenia Room high atop the Shady Pines Senior Complex on bustling Chief Thunderjug Blvd.  The weather service is not calling for much accumulation which means we'll pro'ly get a ton. Well, what do I care, I don't have to go to work. I can stay home on my big, fat bee-hind and play Candy Crush while binge watching Downton Abbey episodes.(in the next episode, Mr. Carson has a stroke and is rushed to the village hospital after observing that Lord Grantham's salad fork is a 16th of an inch lower that his sorbet spoon) I am a child of the times.

Speaking of watching, here's a coupla quick movie reviews: Do not watch, rent, tape, stream Terminator:Genysis. It is thoroughly lame. Now, I like the Terminator movies in general but this one is all explosions, shootings, and car wrecks. It does nothing to advance the story or reveal new plot information. I realize most sequels are crappy but this one put the "crap" in crappy. Also avoid the sequel to National Lampoon's Vacation like the plague. It's horrid. It's one long (no pun intended) penis joke.  Ostensably, the now adult son of Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo is taking his kids on a vacation to Wally World (the ficticious amusment park, not WalMart). Obviously this film was produced by maladjusted, twelve year old boys to which body parts are considered high comedy. I was looking forward to this one, too. The original is one of the funniest films ever. I should have seen the smut coming (again, no pun intended) when I noticed that it had an R rating.

So who does everyone like for the presidential races?  The choices are pretty weak this time 'round. I know that I will not be voting for Trump, that's for damn. He says things I want to hear but if you look at his speeches and proclaimations, and you insert the word "Jew" for the word "Muslim"....well, I guess you know where I'm going with this.  I have a sickening sense of history repeating itself and its not a pretty picture. The other candidates are so unacceptable.  It's just sad when we are given choices of such low common denominators.

Well. Greasytown, I have to make like a tree and get out of here. Oh, if any of you want to get me on facebook, look up "C.H. McCarthy".  That's the name of one of my fictional characters. I know one is not 'asposed to use fake names of facebook but I had bad experiences before and I don't want my identity, such as it is, compromised.   So see if you can find me and hit me up there. Meanwhile I'll still visit here from time to time. Greasytown has always been and always will be my spriritual home. Have a good weekend, everyone.

a lot of people see Bernie as a viable alternative. I think he'll give away the store. I might start an exploratory committee on the feasibility of starting an exploratory committee..

Hey, Kev. I guess it's summer now where you are, you lucky pup. Yea, Trump would be about the worst choice.

Nice to hear from you Ms. Bugg. I knew your fascist meter would
point to Donald Trump. Thanks for the movie warnings.

The Donald is a piece of work, that's fer shur. America has a lot of problems but scapegoating one group is not going to solve anything. The rest of the candidates are just more of the same ol' lying scum.
