  Frustration

I've been waiting for DH to mow the lawn. It needed to be mowed 6 weeks ago. Two weeks ago, he put the mower deck on the tractor, mowed for 2 MINUTES, put it away and went inside. After a while, he came out and trimmed for 20 minutes, then went inside. Both kids were playing a the neighbours, it was the perfect time for him to mow, but nope.

Afterwards, I discovered that instead of moving a dish I was using for cat water, he made a hole in it with the weed wacker, and just walked away and left it there. I also discovered that he chopped down the daylilies and irises at the front gate. :(

Maybe a week ago I told him that he better go mow the septic field before all that thick grass causes problems with the system. He mowed it, and a small part of the front yard then said that the tractor is "too hot" and went inside. :(

A few days ago, he comes home with a bread maker, gleefully saying it was FREE over and over again. And I blew up. YOU WON'T MOW THE LAWN BUT YOU HAVE TIME TO BAKE BREAD!!!!!

He mowed the lawn on Saturday, almost all of it. Yesterday I start noticing things. He mowed over the popular tree I planted a week ago. He didn't "notice" the 18" tall fully leafed out tree in line with 6 other trees. Then I notice the ground line to the electric fence also was damaged. The conduit that runs under a gate had been hit and separated at the joint, and the ground wire severed.

I point that out to him, and its "I didn't know I did that." I watch him fool around with it, pulling the conduit out of the ground - separating it from the rest of the underground conduit. He pulls the wires out of it, then puts the two pieces of conduit together... oh, what's this wire? DUH. Like I went to the effort of running empty conduit under a gate for no reason. I didn't watch him repair the wire, then discovered he covered the wire join with duct tape. ARRGHGHH! Why didn't you use electrician's tape? Made him remove the duct tape, look for the fricking electrician's tape himself, and fix it properly. Of course, it's not fixed properly because the above ground conduit is no longer attached to the below ground...

He had been doing something before he fixed the conduit last night. Well, this morning I discover that he left the broom he was using propped up against the bus shelter, and the tractor shed door open. ARRGGHH!! Another huge pet peeve - in the last year or so he is no longer able to clean up after himself. He leaves pliers laying on the driveway, work gloves on the grass, he's lost 2 pairs of fencing pliers, and he's even left poisonous fertilizers laying around outside where the kids could get at them.

I DO NOT clean up after him. I DO NOT say a word about it unless it's going to cause problems for me or the kids. I don't need to turn into a nag.

It is just so frustrating!! And of course he gets pissed off at me when I do point these things out to him, and then doesn't understand why I'm ALWAYS mad at him. And why does he think it's okay for him to walk into the house with manure muddied boots when I leave my boots at the bottom of the garage stairs. I have to shake out the back door mats every single morning. :(

I hate men--and I'm one. Maybe I just hate idiots. In any case, I'm sorry. Hope you feel better after unloading.

Yup, feel better and it seems that he's figured out that the lawn needs to be mowed because her mowed what appears to be the whole thing today.
