My Hometown

I had heard all along about how bad the flooding was in Binghamton NY and I was very happy that most of the people I know and love are on high ground so I wasn't overly concerned...

This video really made me sad though to see how truly devastating this flood was to the already economically struggling Binghamton. My dad said there is talk of not rebuilding some places because they are in a flood plain... there was the flood of 06 and now this one. Yikes. I feel for people who are already hurting financially!

Here's the video. Probably won't be as interesting to those of you who don't know the area, but for me having been some of these places at the beginning of September, well, it's unreal.

OH!well I for one did not hear about it and watched the video.
so sad of these people going through this.Not here but everywhere.
It has quite been a year so far and dread what the winter brings us.

Devastating! Is this from the hurricanes Irene and Lee, and still hanging around? I hope it's a rare occurrence for them. People will be talking about this for the rest of their lives.

I am so sorry. See the new Family Circle magazine. They tell you all the
things that you need to do before an emergency. I am going to try to to
make copies of all important documents to put in our emergency box.

That is SMART! I wonder how many people actually do that... I guess the smart ones. Most people think it'll never happen to them.
