DH and I attended the local theatre's last performance of Noel Coward's Nude with Violin last night. The acting was great however, the end was very unsatisfactory. I felt I was left hanging. I felt the curtain should open again to continue the story. I haven't seen enough of his work to judge whether or not Mr Coward is entitled to the level of fame he enjoys or would enjoy were he not deceased. I suspect he was just a prolific writer. Anyway, it was a night out and I had a lovely time.
Next up is The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams. Must remember to bring soft, seat cushion to next performance.

The theatre group on Pender are doing this play in April (I think). So I'll have to tell you then what I think about it. The women were talking about it at aquafit and one lady said "it isn't a pornographic play".
I envy your evening out. I love the theater. Noel Coward's work is usually great but I haven't seen this one.
I too must confess ignorance of this work. However, I do love small theater. We had a community theater in the town where we lived for twenty years. Holly was in two of the productions.
Good to hear you enjoyed your evening out with Noel Coward. Have only seen one stage show in the past 4yrs. something about an inch worm. I did see the movie The Glass Menagerie, and I'm sure you will enjoy the play.
I don't know this work of Coward's, but in real life there was a cellist who performed in New York years ago, nude from the waist up. I wonder what happened to her? Glad you had a nice evening out.
